Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival Preview

This year’s Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival will be returning to Exposition Park in Los Angeles on October 28 & 29. Tyler, the Creator, Odd Future leader, rapper and entrepreneur, is the mastermind behind this event and managed to snag Kid Cudi, Lana Del Rey, Solange and A$AP Rocky, as headliners for this year’s festival.

Camp Flog Gnaw is always heavily rap, hip-hop and R&B, but also booked a few electronic acts like Justice, Alison Wonderland and Sam Gellaitry. The festival also booked more female artists, including: Kehlani, Kamaiyah, Kelis, Kelela and Willow Smith.

This is festival is where a county fair meets a music festival, very fitting if you are familiar with the festival founder, Tyler the Creator. The young rapper is always working on projects beyond music, and currently has a TV show on Viceland where he delves into the collaborative world of design. There is rollercoasters, arcade games and interactive art providing attendees youthful environment.

As far as special performances go, if you have secured a ticket then you definitely might want to take a peek at Lana Del Rey, perform new material off her fifth studio album, Lust for Life. Maybe there is an off chance that A$AP Rocky and Del Rey will perform their single together.

Camp Flog Gnaw has also many artists that are currently on tour making a pit stop at the festival during their North American runs. Alison Wonderland just kicked off her ‘Fuck Me Up On A Spiritual Level’ tour, with Elohim as support. Her new tour includes brand new stage production and visuals, a project she’s been really pumped showing her fans on social media. If you like electronic music, you should definitely check her set out.

Kehlani, on the other hand just finished up her Sweet Sexy Savage tour in Summer 2017, and is looking to head back to the studio. Hopefully the young writer and vocalist will have new material for fans at Camp Flog Gnaw.

Summer festival season is now officially over but, Camp Flog Gnaw will return this fall for it’s 6th year. Be sure to watch last year’s festival recap and check out their website for more information.
