This summer Once Upon a Festival will be hosting a co-creative festival June 12-14, 2015 at the swimmable East Park Reservoir in California’s Central Valley. East Park Reservoir in Colusa County, CA, is on the westside of the Sacramento Valley, less than 2 hours from Sacramento and just three hours north of San Francisco. The Once Upon a Festival grounds includes a swimmable lake where they build a floating stage and dancing platforms.
Once Upon a Festival hosts many immersive art installations, galleries, stages and environments, enhancing the fairy tale theme. They also have a 24/7 sound permit, so the dance party doesn’t stop at this music festival!
The festival’s 2015 music acts include Emancipator, SWTO, Sweater Beats, Random Rab, and Coyote Kisses and more. Desert Hearts is also bringing their whole Southern California crew consisting of: Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Deep Jesus, Marbs & Porkchop in addition to the festival line-up.
Here’s a SoundCloud playlist so you can get a taste of what music will be played.
Hookadome and Sacred Spaces are two exhibits at the festival that are also known for their installations at Burning Man and festivals all over the west coast. The two spaces will be re-creating their epic, immersive art and decor for attendees to enjoy. Lucidity Festival will be bringing their Branches Mobile Art Gallery as well as live painters. Enchanted Forest will be featuring the Nectar Temple, where people can visit to experience a unique, radical approach to healing and lounging during downtime at the festival.
One of the truly fantastic features of Once Upon A Festival is its Fairy Tale theme, making it a place attendees let out their inner child in an accepting environment. The festival will also feature performance art, yoga and healing, permaculture and sustainability workshops.
