Need plans for Black Friday, but don’t want to deal with the mall induced mania? Try shopping at 9th Annual Crocker Holiday Artisan Market this weekend at East Sacramento’s Scottish Rite Center.
Hosted by The Crocker Art Museum and the Creative Arts League of Sacramento, the three-day art extravaganza will feature over a 100 artists and their original works to provide guests with a unique shopping experience to find one-of-a-kind gifts for every person on their holiday shopping list.
From wearable art to home décor to gourmet food by Ambrosia Café, the celebration will have something for even the pickiest of shoppers. Jewelry, sculptures, glass, ceramics and textiles are among some of the many fine art works that will be highlighted at this weekend’s festival.
“It’s a wonderful holiday tradition with something for everyone,” said Leah Schonlank, spokesperson at The Crocker Art Museum.
In addition to purchasing art, the event will provide art enthusiasts with a rare opportunity to shake hands with some of California’s most distinguished artists. Guests will also get a chance to hear from the artists themselves about their work and journeys.
In the spirit of the holidays, the family-friendly event will offer children and parents a chance to have their picture taken with Victorian Santa.
Set on the weekend right after Thanksgiving, the market serves as a great way for Sacramento residents to purchase unique gifts while giving back to the community by supporting local artists and city museums, who use the support to fund their renowned exhibitions.
“In addition to finding the perfect gifts, shoppers will feel good about their purchases knowing that all proceeds benefit the local arts community,” Schonlank said.
Having regularly attracted over 5,000 art lovers from across the state in recent years, this year’s celebration is bound to draw an even greater number in its weekend-long art market that will paint Black Friday in a more colorful and artistic shade.
The Crocker Holiday Artisan Market will be held at the Scottish Rite Center. The festival will being at noon on Nov. 28 and at 10am on Nov. 29 – 30.
