Labor Day weekend is almost here and there is no need to go out of town to have a good time! Summer continues to heat up in Sacramento- as the forecast is slated to stay in the 90s through Monday. - Gold Rush Days:
Old Sacramento; Fri-Mon Various Times
Get ready to turn back time to the 1850s! Free to the public and a wildly favorite Sacramento heritage celebration, Gold Rush Days transforms the streets of Old Sacramento’s 27-acre historic district into a scene straight out of the Gold Rush era with nearly 200 tons of dirt and loads of period re-enactments and skits. There’s even a Beer Crawl too!
- Hot Jazz Jubilee:
Sacramento Marriot – Rancho Cordova; Fri 5pm-Midnight, Sat & Sun 9am-Midnight, Mon 9am-4pm
An end of summer jazz festival featuring traditional, swing, zydeco, and big band artists. With 14 bands, and 120 sets of great jazz music, it’s sure to be the biggest party under one roof!
- Little Buckaroos Day:
Crocker Art Museum; Mon 10am-5pm
The West will be wild with wiggles and giggles in this event featuring live performances, craft-making demos, hands-on art-making, and even a petting zoo. See if you can spot trick roper James Barrera and fiddler Steven Zdybel roaming around the museum!
- Chalk It Up! to Sacramento Festival:
Fremont Park; Sat-Mon 10am-6pm
This three-day event features over 200 sidewalk paintings created at the festival by local artists who donate their time, energy, and talent. The artwork is rendered with chalk pastels in a variety of methods. Grab the whole family and check out this fun, artistic festival!
- Rainbow Festival:
Midtown; Sun 10am-6pm
The larger of two annual Sacramento pride events, Rainbow is based on an entertainment-centered lineup including events at local nightclubs, a street fair with multiple stages, internationally recognized headline acts, local and regional talent, as well as guest political speakers, and over 100 informational and vendor booths.
- One Love, One Heart Reggae Music Festival:
Rio Ramaza Marina & Event Park; Sat & Sun 10am
Come celebrate with live music, camping, vendor booths, food, and so much more. This two-day Reggae festival will provide attendants with a multicultural collection of world music, dance, and cuisine. The festival is intended to produce a family-friendly atmosphere oriented toward celebrating the diversity that defines our community.
- 50th Anniversary Sacramento Greek Festival:
Sacramento Convention Center; Fri 11am-11pm, Sat Noon-11pm, Sun Noon-10pm
This year marks the 50th Anniversary of Sacramento’s Greek Festival, one of the most prominent heritage festivals in California. Held every Labor Day weekend at Sacramento’s Convention Center, this festival attracts well over 10,000 people from all over Northern California. Enjoy food, music, dancing, and much more at this historic festival!
- 7th Annual Tejano Conjunto Festival:
Cesar Chavez Plaza, Sun Noon-8pm
The seventh annual Sacramento Tejano Conjunto Festival celebrates the sound and spirit of two musical traditions. Blending Mexican-Spanish vocal traditions with Czech and German dance tunes and instruments, Tejano ("Texan") and Conjunto ("Group") music have spread far from their humble roots in the Lone Star State.
