About MeMoved to Sacramento in 2007 for promotion. Still experiencing culture shock, trying desperately to find a good reason to stay. High prices, high taxes, high crime, why do people live here? I want to find out....what am I missing? |

Military benifits are earned, with a low income but good benifits to balance it out. Wages paid in the service are very low, and offset with current service and post service benifits. The benifits are a way of paying for the service agreement. No arguement on benifits of education. If it has value, and you want it bad enough, you will figure out how to pay for it.

I do not know, I do not believe I have ever been to those neighborhoods. But what I am pretty sure about is that it would be very easy to find a suburb of Sacramento with lower crime rates than the city, and that would attract me if I was raising a family, and that would tend to support sprawl, and that is my point. If you look at the demo of Midtown and Downtown, there are not many kids, so my thought is not origional.
