Photo Essay: River Cats V. Storm Chasers

The River Cats won against visiting Storm Chasers, 9-4, in last night's game at Raley Field. The home team had an early lead with 2-0 in the first inning. In the second inning Storm Chasers came back and took the lead 4-3. By the fourth inning, it was a tied ball game at 4-4. With five errors from the Storm Chasers, and an incredible performance by the River Cats with all but one making a hit, the latter won with a lead of 9-4. Here are photos from the exciting game:

A look at historic Old Florin Town

Only 10 miles from downtown is an area used to be known as the strawberry capital of the world: the Old Florin Town District, according to its locals. The ongoing revitalization efforts in the area shows acknowledgment of its historic past. “The goal is to make Old Florin Town a destination,” Sacramento County Department Transportation Senior Land Architect James Schubert said. Sacramento: Is there an app for that?

I downloaded five Sacramento-specific mobile apps to review to find out if there is truth to the famous slogan "There's an app for that." I had a mixed bag of results, with some useful and some novelty. Midtown Sacramento Price: Free The app encourages its users to explore Midtown, helping them find parking, taxi service, restaurants, boutiques and other needs. It also keeps users up to date with neighborhood events, sales and friends' updates and tweets through an in-app tab for Twitter and Facebook.
