I LOVE the photos in this article, especially the gelato and of the chef standing behind the swinging doors. Now I'm inspired to check out Dine Downtown Restaurant Week. Thanks for sharing, Ron!
Looks like a scene out of a movie, like Batman! Very cool shot.
Most people (journalists included) push deadlines. I think we'll be seeing a lot more entries toward the end of the month. We'll keep reminding people to tag their articles if they want to enter. Your most recent article is tagged appropriately. Keep the questions coming if you have them :)
Glad to have more people entering!
Yes, if you work in Roseville then you qualify. We will have our journalism open workshop Jan. 12 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m. at our office. We will have more workshops going forward unrelated to the contest. If you have an account with Sac Press you should be signed up to receive the invitations when we announce our upcoming workshops.
We encourage people to attend the workshop but if you don't have any specific questions, then it would be fine if you didn't attend. If a question comes up later in the month, you can always send it to Casey or me. You've written before so you're familiar with how our site works and what goes into an article. People who attend the workshop won't get extra points added to their articles and have that sort of advantage over those who do not attend. However, if people want to ask about their story ideas for the contest, this would be a great opportunity to do so.
Sure. This wasn't something we had to think about last time around, but it's good to see that we need to address it this time.
I feel very fortunate to have met your wife and children briefly when they would come in the office. I'm so very sorry to hear this news, but I'm happy you were still in Malaysia when this all happened. You are a wonderful father and husband. We're all thinking of you and sending our prayers your way.
Thanks, Lindol. Just fixed it.
I love what she does with her ears when she makes that face.
Oh my goodness, what a great shot! Very impressive. Thanks for sharing!
Sapporo Grill and Petra are both open until 3 a.m., but it will be nice to have more places open late.
Agreed. I went out Friday night hoping to see all of the lights out for the Sacred Heart Holiday Home Tour. I was disappointed to see only a few homes with exteriors lit. I did not know that the tour is for the interiors, which makes more sense. Glad to get a peek inside, thanks to Kati and Mary.
I added credit at the bottom of the story. Thanks.
Who took the photos?
Those mouth pieces sure do come out a lot! That is quite the flattering photo of Cousins with his mouthguard out and full of spit.
Looks like it was a really intimate class setting. I want one of Angelo's colorful aprons and the corn husk flowers were gorgeous. Great coverage, David.
Beautiful photos, Marc. The red really pops especially against the Kings' white.
