<content type="text">Allow we to step in. We encouraged Cristina to post a weekly feature highlighting a new player each time. These are used for the WAKA splash page: http://www.sacramentopress.com/tag/waka

This is similar to the weekly "Racing for a Reason" articles I sometimes post, "Volunteer Spotlight" that Sacramento Food Bank &amp; Family Services, etc.

I love them and think it's a creative way of promoting the league without directly advertising so hope you keep posting them!</content>

<content type="text">"Have you ever been stuck on a project at work for so long that once you look at the clock, you realize you have missed happy hour?"

YES! All the time. I usually make it just in time to get one drink at happy hour price and then end up spending way more than I planned since "happy hour" quickly became "regular drink" hour.

Also, when making happy hour plans with friends I usually pick the place based on who has the latest happy hour window.

It will probably boost their business. Win-win for all! I hope more bars catch on to this trend!</content>

<content type="text">Just downloaded this and I am impressed. My roommate and I were just talking last night about a dead cat on a public sidewalk. For my own curiosity I checked to see if there was somewhere to submit this and, sure enough, a "Dead animal in public view" tab.

Even cooler is the option to submit photos with your entry. This seems like it would be useful for so many situations.

Way to step up your technology game, Sac!</content>

At a time when we're constantly hearing about red tape, ordinances and fees keeping businesses stagnant (or shutting them down) I would have to say that a sign coming down and new trays in the food court is definitely a breath of fresh air.

Very excited to watch this project develop!</content>

I was out Friday night close to that area during that time and got chills when I heard the news. It could have been anyone.

I am very curious though, has anyone confirmed that the shooter(s) were drinking at the surrounding establishments, or drinking at all, that night?</content>

Just to clarify, we specifically asked Jana to cross-post some of her blogs and said that she is welcome to include the blog URL. We will be laying out a splash page for her in the near future and need her to post enough content to do so.

Thanks for the feedback!</content>

It's important to note that the author of this story is a contributor to our site and not claiming to be a journalist. Please note that the affiliation disclosure reads "Asael is a community organizer for Pesticide Watch &amp; Pesticide Watch Education Fund."

We often invite public relations professionals and others involved with community organizations to post their press releases if we aren't available to cover an event or issue ourselves. This is one example.

We also invited the organization who will be conducting the spraying to post their notification release so that both those for and against the spraying are represented.

I know the issue here is parking and not necessarily the disorderly drunks in general but you bring up a great point! It bothers me that everyone has this mentality that all of the people vandalizing property, throwing up on their lawns and even parking on their streets don't live on the grid.

The majority of people I know that party downtown also live downtown. I also know many that will drive (and search for parking) just several blocks from their home.</content>

    <content type="text">junkyardgrrl,

Touching on the last part of your comment; why do you use "firefighters" in quotes? If that was your child would you be upset that there were five firefighters assisting him?

Although you might think they were just "standing around," every firefighter on a call has a specific role. Most often, they are on standby in case a situation escalates.

I would encourage you to ride along with a local fire department (these are open to the public) so you understand why a certain amount of units and personnel are dispatched to each call. You would probably be surprised...and certainly more informed.</content>

<content type="text">Ha. Possessions? I don't think I would get much for a few pieces of dented furniture and some costume jewelry!

Although we live in a society where my generation thinks it's acceptable to lean on everyone around them for financial assistance, I wasn't raised that way. My family struggles to pay their own bills so I don't think they would be willing to further extend themselves to send me to another state or country because I can't afford to live in ours.

The point I was trying to make is that, like I said, it's a great solution but it's far from realistic. Like many I know, I'm employed full-time and live (very) far from lavishly but I still scrape by to pay my $580 rent each month.

Everyone's situation is different, I was just sharing mine as an alternative point of view.</content>

Also, don't you think that's easier said than done? I thought about it and, even if I wanted to move anywhere at this point in my life, I couldn't even afford the moving expenses! What about the costs of traveling there first to line up a job, search for housing, etc. among a ton of other expenses.

While it's a creative and fulfilling solution that seems completely unrealistic (for most).</content>

Kudos to the men who are comfortable enough with their masculinity to strap on a pair of heels and support a very deserving cause. Good men.</content>

<content type="text">I am beside myself with sadness that you're leaving but so happy you're pursuing your true passion. Not many people can say that they are doing what they love but you will be able to say that!

You've been an inspiration to work with and more than a colleague but a friend and mentor too.

Thanks for everything!</content>

<content type="text">We offer (and encourage) copy editing to all contributors but don't require it. We can't say for sure but I believe most of the SactoMoFo articles from over the weekend were written as part of a story assignment for a local college course.

If anyone is interested in having a draft of their article copy edited before posting, just send it to journalism@sacramentopress.com. Your edited copy will be returned within 24 hours ready to post!

We appreciate your feedback!</content>
