Sacramento has a new and delicious gourmet treat that's made by a Sacramento local. DavePops are creamy, drip-free ice pops that leave you swearing to yourself that you just had a cup of ice cream. But don’t let that creamy texture and taste fool you, this is no ice cream, this is a completely different process patented by creator Dave Feldpausch. These treats come in a variety of different flavors including favorites like mint chip and mocha, and fruit flavors like mango, lemon, lime and much more, but I think the most unique flavors that he has are the energy drink flavors like Red Bull. The most amazing thing is that although the popsicles are creamy and taste just like ice cream,
The amount of mopeds and scooters out on the roads these days in Sacramento, and really all over the U.S., has been steadily growing in the past few years. I would imagine that this is the most common they have been since the mid to late 70s. I have been watching it happen since about 2005 when I purchased the first moped I had ever even ridden. But even The Wall Street Journal is reporting about their increase in sales. The Wall Street Journal reports that “domestic sales of scooters have surged as budget- and environment-minded consumers look for relief from high pump prices and as more-appealing models come on the market.” Sales of scooters with engine sizes of 150CCs or less…have jump
So last night Saturday June 13th 2009 was another amazing second Saturday here in Sacramento but among the normal routine of the event it was Hot Italian’s Grand Opening bash. The people showed up in full affect for this event last night. The whole place was packed wall to wall with all types of people all with one common goal, pizza! And of course the beer and wine. But on top of all the great food was the entertainment, all night there were DJ’s spinning records on the roof all the while a local Sacramento Mural/Graphitti artist painted an awesome Hot Italian couple on the 16th street side of the building. Up All Night TV was also on site shooting and interviewing folks as well. But the
Some of you out there may not know me and my role at The Sacramento Press so let me fill you in just a bit, I work in our marketing department and it's my basic job to get out there and interface with the people and let them know we are here for their communities. However I often take advantage of this wonderful paper and write stories as well, and you should too. Last Tuesday, I set out on my mission to put together our first official mobile office. I needed to think of a good place to set it up and get a good feel for it. I instantly thought back to the story that one of our interns had done about some people in the River Park neighborhood who are working with the city to close the acce
Last night right about 1:30 am just a few minutes before last call a huge fight broke out in front of the downtown club Image. Seeing Police cruisers flying down I the turn left at 15th we rushed over to get the scoop. Pulling up bicycles there were already three Police cruisers stopped with Officers trying to break up the brawl and detain the suspects. About a total of 18 Cruisers and 2 Bicycles Officers as well only 2 suspects were taken into custody that we could see but there were many more people that were clearly involved some took off on foot. By the time that the Officers had the 2 suspects in the cruisers the Police Helicopter was in circle pursuit in about a 6-7 block radius in s
Hey i was just cruising through there yesterday on the The Sacramento Press bike. Reminds me of being a kid.
Hey Dave great to see you on here and i hope you like the story...
We are all locals of California and its the state who has the overall problem...look at the real issue my friend and you will see that it is not this guy or the city itself exactly. It is our entire states government that has put us in the position to even right IOU's...
You are so right there are a few more bank owned homes than just one in Midtown. But the auther is most likely correct that it is the only one on the market. But i have seen more than 5 just while riding my back through midtown. The way that you can tell the foreclosed homes in midtown is either by the boarded up windows or if you walk up closely to the home there will be a city notice on the front door or on one of the main front windows. But over all yes midtown is the only are in sacramento where the home prices have gone up since 2005. even if it is only by about 2.5%
Dang this makes me even more mad about the fact that KWOD is no longer in the air because 98 rock is a terrible station that plays mostly bad music and bad moring shows. BRING BACK KWOD AND ADAM COROLLA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
