City Ignores Hagginwood Neighborhood's Plea to Install Storm Drainage

Would you pay for a city required service that the city does not provide? In the Hagginwood area of North Sacramento, there is a lack of a city required storm drainage system and the City of Sacramento, through its Department of Utilities, continues to bill property owners for a service the city does not provide. For more than twenty years, Hudson Way property owners and tenants have questioned why Hudson Way and other neighboring streets are without a storm drainage system. If McCarty “understands the costs involved” then he should pay the costs. This city is currently in financial trouble yet this council is able to find funds to pay for this proposed elected charter commission. Amazing! It is no wonder that the vast majority of the people of this city hold this city council in such low esteem.

In the years watching city council meetings, I have found Bonnie Pannell disappointing with her lack of contributing any substantial dialogue to the forum. It’s as though she is just a spectator rather than a contributor to meaningful topics. This leaves me with the impression transparency of important city issues are not her style. Whether she delivers a clearness of issues outside of city council meetings is one thing. However, it would be refreshing to actually hear her articulate issues in a public forum so that there would be no speculation regarding her lack of transparency.
