What's sad is that you and the others who do nothing but criticize the Mayor didn't have the courage nor the convictions to field a candidate, and actually test if the city's voters want an alternative to a Mayor who is shaking up the status quo and moving the city forward.
Being a pastor doesn't make you a social conservative. There are MANY progressive pastors.
It would be good to interview the Stonewall folks who met with the Mayor and get an "inside" take on this.
Mayor Johnson opposed Prop 8 when it was on the ballot -- one of the few African-American political leaders in the state to do so, and he supports the freedom to marry, as made clear here.
It's unfortunate your visceral hate of the Mayor -- which really is akin to Rush Limbaugh's -- prevents you from acknowledging ANY positive actions by the Mayor.
The city has gone all out to help. Having worked with these folks, I can tell you that many want to be out there -- they dont want to be told what to do, to clean up, to confine their pets, etc. Not everyone of course, but there are very few that really need a roof over their heads that dont get one.
