Thanks, Clay. There aren't too many artists or bands whose music can turn me into a complete fool, but DoomBird is one of them. I've gone back to listening to DoomBird's album this week, and I am completely addicted. It's one stunning debut, and I hope that the world at large gets to hear it, or at least the people who care about this kind of music get to hear it. Looking forward to Sunday night, for sure.

Thanks for sharing Jackson! I really appreciate the references to comparative bands and artists, my music library has grown significantly and awesomely since knowing you! I also heartily agree with this article, DoomBird's album is really head and shoulders above a lot of stuff I am listening to right now.

For those interested in hearing a few songs, here is a link to DoomBird's myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/doombird

Brian McKenna was one of the very first people I met in Sacramento. In fact, the DAY I moved to Sacramento, my company I worked for at the time, (Polygram) had an artist booked at the Cattleclub via Brian. Starclub was the band. I also met Jackson that night as a matter of fact . Not the most memorable band, but the beginning of a great friendship. Brian is an incredible promoter, has GREAT musical taste that he shares with all of us, and best of all an amazing person. Happy Birthday Brian! Thank you for bringing us two decades of great music!!! See you at Harlows!
