About Me

Formerly the Towe Auto Museum, we are a spacious 72,000 square foot museum home to over 150 vehicles of various makes and models, ranging from the early 1900s to alternative power vehicles of the future. Exhibits recreate the love affair we have with automobiles and provide historical information about the automotive industry. The Museum's mission is to educate and entertain while preserving and promoting the automobile and its influence on our lives. The Museum is located at 2200 Front Street, between Broadway and Old Sacramento with ample free parking. The Museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm, taking the last admission at 5pm and stays open until 9pm every third Thursday. For more information visit www.CalAutoMuseum.org or call (916) 442-6802.

Conversation about: Appetite Enhancement Ride

The Museum parking lot has hosted this event the last few years (if not longer) and it looks like there was a great turn out! Even though we are closed on Thanksgiving, all the bicycle fanatics should come back and check us out! If you are into two-wheels, we are opening Born to Ride: Motorbikes Past and Present on January 2nd, an exhibit that includes early 20th century models, classic cruisers, contemporary customs, concept prototype illustrations and a unique collection of racing motorcycles and artifacts. Just in case you hadn't heard --- we also changed our name this year from the Towe Auto Museum to the California Automobile Museum. Check out all the fun at www.CalAutoMuseum.org.
