I was informed via Facebook that bassist Ian McLachlan also is a member of aforementioned songstress Reggie Ginn's band. Sorry I missed that one!
Watchdogging public officials and outing their contradicting rhetoric ...this is why true journalism will never go out of style! Great stuff, Isaac.
UPDATE: Not an Airplane performs this Friday, Nov. 18 at The Refuge, along with Ricky Berger, Honyock, and Parie Wood. More details on the Facebook event page: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=143288449106338
'Bout time those rapscallions came out for some photos...don't they respect the schedules of the press? :-) Great shots, Kati!
Good call, Mark...and William, BarWest is a family restaurant, in the same way that Jersey Shore is a family show
Bummer that your awesome "Sacramento's Po' Boys of Pot" rundown was followed so closely by a list of closures, Ed.
I knew Foxy Shazam liked to get weird with it...just not 'spit in my mouth' weird! Great stuff, SC!
Great recap, Amabelle!
Truly, no other bands sound like Cake...but how long can they really keep putting out albums that all sound exactly the same? Still, they're a blast to see live.
I think it's fair to say that if there's one place you'd get a fair amount of support for exploring a budding passion for writing, it's here! :-)
Great coverage of Mr. Slim Jim...err, Wayne Static, Chelsey. Sorry, it's the hair! :-)
Big congratulations, Colleen....and Ben, nicely done, I actually had to look up "indefatigable." That word does indeed summarize the Colleen spirit/smile!
Great stuff, Erica!
Busy week at Sac Press! Mobile site looks great, Geoff!
That's beautiful!
UPDATE: The 8:15 p.m. showing is sold out, so a second show has been added at 10:30 p.m. on September 20. Tickets should be available this afternoon on the venue's Tickets.com page: http://www.tickets.com/venue_info.cgi?vid=26
Thank you for letting us know, gdcb. We have updated the story to include the date of the walk.
Nice one, Amabelle!
I think the owner's quote says it all; just not the right place for FroYo. That block has become too devoted to nightlife...not that that's a bad thing, it's good to see solid blocks like R and 14-15 hopping end to end to service the late night crowds.
Conversation about: California's new wine country: Sacramento
Great story, Kim! I can't say I'm personally familiar with Sacto-bred wines - the region definitely faces an uphill battle being sandwiched between already established regions like Amador, Sonoma/Napa and Lodi. But, step one is certainly awareness...
