KZAP was a legendary Sacramento radio station at 98.5 FM from 1968 through 1992. During its first ten years the station brought a freeform approach to the airwaves, in which jocks were allowed to play whatever music they wanted. SacTV.com is now exploring local radio history, showcasing a series of video interviews with key radio personnel who helped build Sacramento's first big rock audience on FM radio. Jeff Hughson was KZAP's first Music Director and describes in the interviews how KZAP was created in 1968 with his record collection.
