Little Poppy wants to sit in your lap! Great little dog (who just went on a mobile adoption event and did GREAT!) He is a three-year-old Chihuahua. He enjoys being held or curled up in your lap; Also enjoys car rides and walks. Poppy came from a home that kept him outside and he barked when he was ignored. His ideal home will keep him in the house with another dog and some entertainment! He loves people and would prefer to be around them. Pet of the Week- Roxie

Roxie needs a home! Her sweet face says it all- looking for a nice family to keep her company and to spend her days with. Roxie is a nine-year-old Beagle/Chihuahua mix who is a fan favorite among staff and volunteers. She has been with us for several months and has been a patient girl. Roxie is gentle and enjoys the little things like a nice walk, a car ride and a good scratch behind the ears. She will do best in an older home. Man pulled from downtown high-rise building declared dead

A man found tangling from ropes and hanging from the 17th floor of a downtown high-rise building Monday morning apparantly accidentally died of asphixiation and was likely a graffiti tagger, authorities say.  Identified as 30-year-old Craig Michael Fugate, of Vancouver, Wash., the man apparantly entered the building on Easter Sunday, and eventually made his way to the roof. He made his way in alone, and apparantly climbed to an upper ledge area of the roof, where a hoist is stored, lowered himself to another level and then tried to rappel from that landing, according to the Sacramento Police Department.  Fugate harnessed himself in a rope and fan belt for repelling and deployed over the
