NBA Commissioner David Stern issued the following statement, "Kobe Bryant's comment during the Spurs game was offensive and inexcusable. While I'm fully aware that basketball is an emotional game, such a distasteful term should never be tolerated. Accordingly, I have fined Kobe $100,000. University of California-Davis officials say doctoral student Starry Sprenkle along with her 20 month year old daughter and husband are among those missing in the wake of the catastrophic earthquake in Haiti. The Blue Star Mothers of America know how hard it is to send their children off to war. They send the comforts of home care packages to the service men and women.
