Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson will head to the swing state of North Carolina today to stump for the re-election of President Barack Obama.

Johnson will join a bus tour from Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday that will visit the cities of Winston-Salem, High Point, Fayetteville, Rocky Mount, Jacksonville, Wilmington and Durham. He will be joined by state legislators, state officials, and national Obama for America leaders, including former Presidential Aide Reggie Love.

“It is critically important for Sacramento and America to re-elect President Obama,” said Johnson, who has campaigned for the President in California and other states. “With the race tightening, I’m doing all I can in a swing state to make sure that we continue to move America forward with the President’s leadership.”

The bus tour will include stops at the President’s state headquarters, field offices, speaking on local radio stations, rallies, and a “Bikers for Barack Bike to the Polls” ride.

Disclosure: Steven Maviglio was the campaign manager for Mayor Kevin Johnson

Well, at least he is doing something for someone because he appears to have completely forgotten about Sacramento.

Hopefully he will get a better job out of this and move on.

Man, I'm voting for Obama, and this still makes me cringe. I guess the opinion of Sacramentians who are going to vote differently don't matter?

Hey, Mr. Mayor; since I bet we'll be fine while you're out of town (yet again), why don't you just stay gone?

And I thought you weren't KJ's mouthpiece, as you said in your last article. Explain to us all again about why anyone should believe anything you say at all is sincere or truthful?

And once again, "Doubtful" does not have the brass to actually identify him or herself before a personal attack. I guess if I wrote comments as ridiculous as his/her, I wouldn't want my name identified with them either.

North Carolina is a key state, and if KJ being there can help Obama carry it, that's a good thing for the country and Sacramento.
