Cool Ham Luke …the hippest ham to hit the scene will be diggin’ donations in 150 businesses in the Sacramento, Folsom, Roseville, Carmichael, Citrus Heights, Gold River and Elk Grove areas in hopes of makin’ bacon for the Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation. (Disclaimer: The previous paragraph brought to you by Writers Gone Wild)

Albie Aware’s Stuff the Pig campaign will take place throughout October; Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Only a week old, the campaign has created great enthusiasm with participating businesses.

Nancy, at Mamma Susanna’s Ristorante Italiano, is a breast cancer survivor who has a dinner special to support Albie Aware during October and she wanted a piggy bank too!

Cherese, of Dianda’s Italian Bakery in Old Fair Oaks, was at first concerned that it would affect the tips of her employees, but she talked it over with them, and they agreed that the cause trumped the tips.

Erin, from Apex Healthcare, and Crystal, from Johnson Controls, plan to take their piggies on the road as they go to meet clients.

Veronica, from Wellness Mart on Fair Oaks Blvd., agreed to take a piggy because someone in her company is currently fighting breast cancer.

Jake, owner of three Cookie Connection stores in the area, does a breast cancer cookie each October, and was more than happy to help with collections.

Albie Aware Breast Cancer Foundation raises money for expensive diagnostic breast cancer tests such as PET scans and mammograms for women in need.

At Albie, we like to say, “Your wife, your mother, your sister, your daughter, your best friend... Who Cares? … Albie Aware!
