Assemblyman Roger Dickinson remarks on the post foster care situation for sacramento youth. "We know that over 540 foster care youth emancipate out of the foster care system in Sacramento county.  Half of those youth will end up homeless and without the skills necessary to succeed.

That is why it is so critical that non-profits provide that safety net of care for our foster care youth, and especially our emancipated youth as they transition into adulthood.  I applaud the Sacramento Asian Pacific Chamber of Commerce Foundation and its leadership for tackling this critical need and giving these kids the skills necessary for them to compete.  This program will go a long way in laying a strong foundation for these young adults future successes."

The Regional Utility Challenge, part of the entertainment during the break before the final game pitted Roseville Electric against SMUD in a fun game of endurance and skill

"There will be 2 teams of 2 (one utility executive and one JumpStart 21 graduate). Each team will line up at the start line. One at a time, team members will run to the plastic bottle bin, grab a bottle, run back, stop at behind the designated line and shoot the bottle into the recycle can. Once bottle is shot, the runner will tag their team member and continue the process for one (1) minute. The team with the most recycled bottles in 1 minute is the victor. Representing Roseville Electric, please give a big hand to Mohammed Khan, Electric Substation and Metering Supervisor. And from SMUD let’s give it up for Paul Lau, Assistant GM Customer, Power Supply & Grid Operations (also an SACC Board Member.)"
