A photographer takes photos of the diseased camphor tree at Capitol and 18th as workers cut off limbs.

Over 100 years old, the camphor tree at the corner of Capitol and 18th has won the hearts of many Sacramentans. Sadly it has contracted a fungal disease known as verticillium wilt.
And so it must come down.
I caught some shots as workers were taking it apart, limb by limb. Sad to see a big beautiful tree have to come down:
