Under the banner of Next Economy, Sacramento sets out to raise our economic stature and redefine our future through implementing a set of shared priorities. With a steady focus on defined economic development strategies, community-wide support for the arts, bipartisan dialogue among the region's mayors, and proactive efforts to attract major sporting events, our visit to Denver will show us a collaborative culture that spans public and private sector leadership.
Metro Denver is recognized nationally and even internationally for its collaborative approach to economic development. In the last three decades, the Metro Denver region successfully cleaned up its air and diversified its oil and gas-dependent economy, spearheaded construction of the nation's only new airport in the past 25 years, and launched the nation's largest single transit build-out.
As we shift from a commodities-based domestic economy to one defined by information and innovations, moving the Sacramento region to the next economy will require our metropolitan leaders to cultivate collaborative economic development models that set platforms for sustainable growth.
The 2012 Study Mission to Denver, CO, September 12-14, provides the ideal platform for local leaders to engage in game-changing conversations on growing and diversifying our regional economy while visiting one of the nation's most desirable places to live and conduct business in the country. Learn more. Join us in Denver, Colorado Sep 12-14.
