The weeklong Launch 2012 music, design and fashion festival will end with DJ Shadow and Chromeo lighting up the stage for the Launch Music Festival on Saturday.

The electrofunk beats of Chromeo – composed of childhood friends Patrick Gemayel and David Macklovitch – are sure to bring a crowd, and bringing Chromeo to the festival was one of the major goals of co-organizer Michael Hargis when he started Launch four years ago, according to co-organizer Clay Nutting.

According to the Launch website, DJ Shadow – born Josh Davis – wasa pioneer in the experimental instrumental hip-hop style associated with the London-based Mo' Wax label.

The event kicks off at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Cesar Chavez Plaza at Ninth and I streets.
