Region Builders, a building industry coalition founded by the Sacramento Regional Builders Exchange that includes thirteen esteemed local trade and professional associations and industry businesses, has endorsed Sacramento City Council Candidate Joe Yee for District 4.

Joe Yee has lived in the City of Sacramento his entire life. As an active member of the community, a business owner and proud parent, Joe has made a commitment to help improve the City as demonstrated by his 18 years of public service to the place he has called home for 61 years. Notably, Joe currently serves as a Principal at the esteemed local Architecture firm Anova Nexus Architects, which has designed several of the community’s most signature projects. Mr. Yee has always been passionate about serving his community. For nearly the past two decades Joe has served on the Planning Commission (serving as its Chair 3 times), the Chair of the General Plan Advisory Committee, and even a brief stint as the Councilmember for District 4 after being appointed to fill a vacancy.

His main objective is to help the City Council work together in a collaborative fashion to develop solutions for the City’s most pressing needs and problems.

Bill Porter, Board President of Region Builders, explained how Region Builders was delighted to support one of the industry’s very own for City Council. “Mr. Yee is an esteemed member of our industry and has been a leader in our local community for decades. We could not be prouder to support someone who lives, works and breathes our industry and has done so for his entire career,” stated Mr. Porter.

Joe Yee explained his deep appreciation for receiving a strong early endorsement. “I am proud to earn the support of my peers and those who I know share my same passion for Sacramento. I look forward to working together to create jobs and improve economic conditions for our local building industry,” stated Mr. Yee.

Meh. Not surprising that they would endorse someone connected with their industry. Tell me why I should care who the regional building industry coalition supports? What does that mean for my district?

Which makes you think why they didn't support Joe Yee before? And why they support him now?

NOT AT ALL looking forward, it appears, to seeing every Council candidate endorsement press release being RE-posted @ SacPress -- verbatim.
And "esteemed" candidates, too!

Perhaps, Jared, there's time for a re-think of this spam-filled trend...

Sac Press is an open site. Users can post articles directly, without going through me or anyone else, and articles are only taken down if they violate our site rules, or Terms of Service. Our community manager, Casey Kirk, monitors the site to make all contributions are in line with the TOS. In a case like this, I trust our readers to be able to read the piece and understand it for what it is - an endorsement of a candidate by one interested party or special interest group. They have a right to an opinion and have expressed it. Our staff will run down all the endorsements both candidates receive.
