Acoustic blues musicians and Torch Club regulars Jimmy Pailer and Lew Fratis will heat up the Torch Club stage for a free happy hour show Friday from 5 - 7:30 p.m.

Torch Club recently celebrated its tenure in its current location, but the venue – known for its live music shows often featuring local talent – has roots back to the immediate post-Prohibition era, when it was one of the first venues to get an alcohol license when Prohibition was abolished.

While Pailer and Fratis are veterans of the Torch Club stage, owner Marina Texeira previously told The Sacramento Press that blues is popular, but she wants to branch out to other genres as well.

“We’re trying to reach out to other music fans in town,” she said at the time. “We all need to support live music.”

Torch Club is located at 904 15th St.
