Rutabagas: Webster’s New World Dictionary---Turniplike plant
Rutabagas: Popular Vernacular---Celebrated 1970s Sacramento Rock Band (Average age-60) that still rocks harder than Superman’s kneecap, proving “rust never sleeps.” … though it occasionally takes short afternoon naps.
On Friday, July 27, at 8pm, in the Pano Hall at Thunder Valley Casino, the Rutabaga Boogie Band will dust off their axes and tubs for a 2 hour plus performance.
Last year, the band sold out the Pano Hall, ranking them 6th in ticket sales since the venue’s inception. While this is a noteworthy achievement for a local act that rarely reunites, the band’s proudest achievement is that their followers, who last year came from as far away as L.A. and Hawaii, set a record for sales in the bar.
The band, together since 1974, features 3 guitarists, 2 drummers, 4 part harmonies and…oh yeah, the bass player, who flew in from Minnesota.
Tickets ($22.50) available at Tickemaster.com, 800.745.3000 or Thundervalleyresort.com.
