Correa is a humble individual who is very talented and looks to her designs as pieces of art.

When asked about inspiration for the evening’s fashion Correa said, “I based the designs on Aztec tribal designs. Tonight’s designs are authentic and genuine designs patterned to reflect modern Mexican and folk art.”

I asked Correa if she had an initial concept for her designs and she said, “I did and I wanted to get in touch with my heritage. I’m half Mexican and half black so I wanted to share my heritage and to express it through my art and my art comes through my fashion.”

Correa has been designing for only a year but says she’s been doing art work since she was in high school.

When asked if she was looking to get a degree in fashion or design Correa stated, “Actually my degree will be in Psychology but fashion is my passion.”

I asked Correa how long has she’s had that passion. “Since I was young it was the one thing that I continually did and worked on. It’s something I was really good at and it allowed me to express myself,” said Correa.

When asked what she wanted the audience to notice when they see her designs Correa said, “I’d like them to see how original they are. They’re one of kind designs just like like a piece of art. I want them to feel like they’re seeing an art piece from a gallery and make them feel like they're wearing a priceless piece of art when they see my clothing.”
