Trace Adkins put on a strong show Friday night at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln.
Towering over the audience at 6-feet-6 inches tall, Adkins received a warm welcome as he took center stage at Thunder Valley’s Outdoor Amphitheatre.
Atkins, who has been voted Country’s Sexiest Man, was in a spirited mood and continually joked with the crowd between songs.
The sold out crowd of 4,500 were dressed in cowboy hats, cutoff shirts and knee high boots and remained standing through much of the show – laughing at Atkins’ witty humor and singing along to his expressive songs.
The Louisiana native performed hits like Honky Tonk Badonkadonk, Ladies Love Country Boys, and You’re Gonna Miss This as he worked his way across the stage in his signature black cowboy hat.
Last night’s show was just one of many on his Songs & Stories Tour, where Adkins uses social media to interact with his fans before and after the shows to determine the songs he performs on stage.
As part of the “stories” portion of his tour, Adkins told tales of his career, his family and his personal life throughout the show.
Adkins made his debut in 1996 with the album Dreamin’ Out Loud. Since then, Atkins has released seven more albums and two Greatest Hits collections.
Thunder Valley’s Summer Concert Series runs through September.
