Free entertainment is provided on Wednesday nights at the Palladio at Broadstone. Palladio is Folsom’s biggest retail center.

A nightly weekly concert series called On the Stage began on Wednesday, June 6 and runs until August 1 from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m.

This past Wednesday night an all ages audience was treated to a great show by Dinorah and Crosswinds.

Crosswinds is a Pop, R & B, Top 40 and Latin music group. The audience in attendance was enthusiastic throughout the show as lead singer Dinorah and Crosswinds played favorites such as “We are Family”, “Lady Marmalade” and Spanish songs like “Triste Canción de Amor” and many other songs.

Dinorah and Crosswinds is a very versatile and experienced group. Several times during their performance each player was given time to showcase their playing abilities performing solos.

Dinorah’s radiant smile, vocals and performance on stage is very captivating and the musicians backing her are just as versatile.

No matter what type of music they play from Motown, blues, jazz, and rock to Latin genres that include salsa, bachata, cumbia and merengue they will entertain and get people dancing.

Little kids as well as adults found a dancing area to dance to the music. Several families brought a picnic to the event giving many a family night out on the town.

Palladio at Broadstone is a 540,000 square feet facility that continues to attract new businesses and has many facilities available. Cinema West, a 16-screen theater was the first business open at Palladio in December 2009.

A much publicized new tenant will be moving in during the next couple of weeks. Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar & Grill will operate out of a 14,809 square feet facility. The bar, restaurant and live music venue had several dozen representatives called Whisky Girls at the concert handing out information.

The Whisky Girls was made up of servers, cocktail waitresses and hostesses working at Toby Keith’s.

No actual date (as of this writing) has been announced but it is expected to open in June or early July.

The highly acclaimed Folsom High School Jazz Choir also made an appearance at the Piazza fountain area near White House Black Market.

The 12 member group took the stage and sang several songs a cappella. 

Each member either sang or made musical background noises to accompany their program. The Folsom High School Jazz Choir has received several recent jazz program awards including one from 2012 Downbeat Magazine. They also won several first and second prize awards at the 2012 Reno Jazz Festival and at the 2012 Next Generation Jazz Festival/Monterey Jazz Festival.

During their show they performed a medley of Zero 7’s “Mr. McGee”, the Eagles’ “Witchy Woman” and Katy Perry’s “Wide Awake.”

Jamiroquai's “Virtual Insanity” was also performed and was billed as a dance song and the choir encouraged the audience to dance.

Crosswinds returned to the stage and closed out a magnificent show. The event was very entertaining and showcased local talent. The venue gave guests the opportunity to shop and as more businesses open it will surely attract shoppers from Folsom and surrounding areas.

The next On the Stage Concert Series features the Sacramento Blues Revue on June 20.
