Community leaders will join The Sacramento Press for live chats with incumbent Mayor Kevin Johnson and Jonathan Rewers, who currently serves as chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission. Questions will be chosen from those submitted by readers over the past week.

The first chat will be with Johnson at 11 a.m., and the second chat will be with Rewers at 11:45 a.m.

After the chats, videos will be posted on YouTube and featured on The Sacramento Press.

Editor's note: We're working on an article now that should be live later this afternoon. Thanks to everyone who participated. Sorry for the tech issues – this was our first time doing this and we had an equipment failure – but despite that, we got some good questions from readers and responses from the candidates. More soon...

Rewers: If you're elected will you bring Padilla in to work with you?

I would love to hear what Leonard Padilla had to say. He would have buried both of them.

I think Padilla is a character and our City would be worse off without eccentrics like him. But do you think he really wants to be mayor? Because I don't. I think he just likes running for mayor.

Evak, too bad Sac Press didn't interview Padilla so you could ask him that.

I held up a picture of each of the other candidates in the race... since KJ wouldn't debate them I thought he might like a reminder as to who they are (were).

The issue wasn't what you were holding up, but how you were doing it – waving it around in front of the camera and putting it real close up. It was distracting. But we gave you plenty of air time when you came back.

Just a suggestion -- it would be nice to have the tech issues ironed out before hosting one of these shindigs again... I'm voting for Rewers.
