A combo for the ages: Beer and Ballet

As the classical performing arts, such as opera, orchestral music and dance, seek to find younger audiences, many venues have been experimenting with productions that seek to remove the “stodgy” or more formal veneer that these art forms have long been associated with. Hence, Opera in the Park in San Francisco and other cities.

The Sacramento Ballet’s Beer and Ballet should be considered in this vein, and it does sound fun. For $35, attendees get two drink tickets for Ruhstaller beer, and can enjoy “edgy new works created by the dancers” as well as a chance to “see the dancers up-close-and-personal in a setting both informal and intimate.”
