SACRAMENTO, CA – Stanford Youth Solutions, formerly Stanford Home for Children, announced today that Chevo Ramirez and Amelia and Vincent Semper will be awarded the 2012 Distinguished Service Awards. They will be recognized on April 26, 2012 at the North Ridge Country Club in Fair Oaks at Vintage 2012 —Stanford Youth Solutions’ 7th Annual Wine Auction.

Chevo Ramirez is the Regional Vice President of the Wells Fargo Foundation for the Northern California Region and is this year’s Community Honoree. Foster parents Amelia and Vincent Semper are the Family Honorees.

“The Distinguished Service Award is presented annually to those who have made long-standing, commendable and considerable contributions to Stanford Youth Solutions,” said Associate Executive Director Kären Woodruff. “We are honored to have the partnership of Chevo, Amelia and Vincent. Each in their own way provides invaluable support for the 2,000 young people and families we serve.”

At the Wells Fargo Foundation, Ramirez is responsible for managing and directing charitable contributions for the Northern California Region, working closely with community organizations to determine local needs and opportunities for grant making.

For nearly four years, the Sempers have worked with Stanford Home’s Foster Care program to provide a loving, stable home for young people who have intensive needs. The couple blends their biological extended family and provides respite for children, has helped two siblings to reunify with their biological family, and have taken guardianship of a thirteen-year-old girl.

“Being recognized by Stanford Youth Solutions is such an honor for us. We are so fulfilled to give back to the community,” said Amelia. “Being foster parents is something we will do as long as the need is there.”
