Conversation on The Sacramento Press about: For a good scare- haunted house round-up

The Halloween season is upon us and besides it being a time for Jack O’ Lanterns and spiderwebs, it’s a time to get the candy scared out of us. When you’ve exhausted your stack of scary movies, it might be time to wander through a haunted house or two for a scream-filled, skin-crawling kind of fun.

The Sacramento Press put together a list of several haunted houses in the area that are sure to make one’s hair stand straight.

We make our rounds to as many home haunts as possible each year but we really look forward to the Forest Of Lost Souls haunt. The homeowner in El Dorado Hills transforms there three car garage into a walk-through maze that will leave you speechless. They are open rain or shine. They have the best scare actors in the area, as far as I'm concerned, and great room displays with animatronics. I forgot to mention, they are also partners with the Food Bank of El Dorado County for the first time. Bring two canned food items to get two dollars of a regular priced admission fee. You will be amazed! Website www.forestoflostsouls.com for directions and admission cost. See you all their!

If you're looking for another haunted house, check out the Scare Away Hunger Haunted House in Cameron Park. The haunted house is built and run by a group of local teens who were interested in raising awareness and funds for the El Dorado County Food Bank. Last year the group was able to raise $3000 and 3000 pounds of canned food. Admission is free, although donations of cash or non-perishable food items are greatly appreciated. (:

Scare Away Hunger will run October 28th, 29th and 31st from 6:30PM to 11PM. The haunted house is located at 1855 Delphina Court in Cameron Park (across from the Cameron Park Library)
