GEMS, Guitar Expressions Music Series at Antiquité Maison Privée    Ross Hammond

GEMS, Guitar Expressions Music Series, will showcase some of the Sacramento region’s most inspired, skilled, and creative guitarists beginning Friday night in Antiquité’s inviting setting.

To kick of the series, Sacramento native and underground jazz innovator Ross Hammond will take the stage on November 19th. Hammond, Sammy Award Winner and the producer of the four-years-running “In the Flow” festival, is one “who can probably express himself with a guitar better than most of us can with the English language,” writes the Sacramento News and Review. Hammond has a “sonic sensibility [that] merges rock, jazz and free improvisation into a cohesive collection beyond category,” says Troy Collins at allaboutjazz.com. Hammond will perform both solo and with Bay area saxophonist, Phillip Greenlief.

Antiquité, at 2114 P St.
