Satellite Affordable Housing Associates is constructing a two-story building that will contain 20 affordable housing units mainly to serve adults with developmental disabilities. 18 one bedroom and two two-bedroom units.

Kelsey Village offers a large terrace for outdoor activities, such as a veggie garden for tenant use.
Indoor amenities include an administrative office, community and meeting rooms, an informal lounge and laundry room.

Targeted for completion in early spring 2013, Kelsey Village is located at 2830 Stockton Blvd, the site of the former San Carlos Motel.

According to a press release, the property was purchased by the Housing Authority of Sacramento in 1979. With the construction of Highway 99, the San Carlos Motel became obsolete.

It is a HUD 202 project. Designed by YHLA Architects, General contractor is Sunseri Construction.

According to the Sacramento Business Journal, Oct. 5, 2012, the Sacramento Housing and Redevelopment Agency partnered with Satellite Housing of Berkeley and Domus Development of San Francisco to redevelop the site. Domus is the company that built the award-winning La Valentina infill housing project in Sacramento.

Kelsey Village is Satellite Housing’s first development in the City of Sacramento. Construction began in early 2012.
